The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jean-Pierre Delamotte showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jonathan Chevance's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yann Arnoult read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Patrick Hervieux managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herblay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Hervieux was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 41 played minutes, Herblay's Gilles Laurans shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yann Arnoult came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Herblay reached it. 46 minutes into the game, Tanguy Collas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chantepie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herblay the free kick. After a rather tough play, Chantepie's Tanguy Collas got a free kick in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leo Couve made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Jonathan Chevance managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herblay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Chevance was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yann Arnoult breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Chantepie getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Tanguy Collas hit a great ball. Patrick Hervieux struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Yann Arnoult didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Herblay. Jean-Pierre Delamotte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Jobin in the 58th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Jobin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean-Pierre Delamotte was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Jean-Pierre Delamotte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Jobin in the 63rd minute of play. Yann Arnoult was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Patrick Hervieux capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Patrick Hervieux really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. In the 69th minute, one of Herblay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Herblay. Jeremy Caballero walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After having played for 73 minutes, Leo Couve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chantepie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Couve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Herblay's zone, Gabriel Jobin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Pierre Delamotte came out of the goal and Gabriel Jobin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jean-Pierre Delamotte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Couve, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Gabriel Jobin might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jean-Pierre Delamotte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Jobin ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias Montes during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, Mathias Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gauthier Loup lost his temper 87 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 86th minute, one of Chantepie:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chantepie. The goalkeeper, Yann Arnoult, was totally fooled by Herblay's Gilles Laurans, who 89 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
