Salim Heyraud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Montagny's Marvin Ballanger got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Yvan Champeau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Pecheur, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Grigny's zone, Marvin Ballanger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yvan Champeau came out of the goal and Marvin Ballanger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paul Pecheur in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yvan Champeau prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 15 played minutes Grigny got a freekick which was hit by Moise Thiercelin. In the 16thth minute of the game Paul Pecheur who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grigny's Yvan Champeau was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ramzi Contant kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Moise Thiercelin kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Marvin Ballanger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yvan Champeau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paul Pecheur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yvan Champeau having to interfere. Wilfried Danion kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Noel Desroches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Guignier in the 35th minute of play. If Salim Heyraud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paul Pecheur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yvan Champeau having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Marvin Ballanger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yvan Champeau. Grigny's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marvin Ballanger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valentin Guignier was the one to do the kick off. Grigny's Salim Heyraud got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Noel Desroches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Guignier in the 55th minute of the match. With a little luck, Grigny's Yvan Champeau got control of the ball when Paul Pecheur tried to sneak it across the goal line. Noel Desroches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salim Heyraud in the 58th minute of play. Yvan Champeau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marvin Ballanger in the 71st minute of the match. Dylan Ricaud hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Grigny's Yvan Champeau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Grigny from getting a goal against them. After having played for 79 minutes, Paul Pecheur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montagny's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paul Pecheur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Salim Heyraud managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grigny's supporters rose to their feet, but Salim Heyraud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noel Desroches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Noel Desroches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Guignier in the 87th minute of the match. Paul Pecheur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Yvan Champeau made a huge save. In the 94th minute, Moise Thiercelin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Paul Pecheur left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montagny fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The Grigny supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Montagny's performance. The match ended with a win for Montagny.
