Nelson Laisney might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kevin Graziani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nelson Laisney ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, Robin Balland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Theodore Cadic. Mirande's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robin Balland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Croix's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Brice Marolleau in the 49th minute. Mirande's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emile Huet made a kick off. Mirande's Ronan Benquet got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60thth minute of the game Emile Huet who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mirande's Theodore Cadic was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Robin Balland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theodore Cadic having to interfere. In the 64th minute of the match Brice Marolleau sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Theodore Cadic skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mirande's zone, Robin Balland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Theodore Cadic came out of the goal and Robin Balland tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 94th minute Emile Huet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theodore Cadic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronan Benquet got free with Kevin Graziani in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Croix's Remi Besancon got a free kick in the 98th minute. Croix's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
