Guînes's Olivier Degrave got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florian Cotte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Florian Cotte could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Gilles Breard however easily saved by the left post. 26 minutes into the match, Guînes's goal looked a bit too open when Baptiste Josephine came free, but Gilles Breard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Guînes's zone, Florian Cotte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilles Breard came out of the goal and Florian Cotte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Steve Havard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guînes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve Havard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Guînes's goalkeeper Gilles Breard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florian Cotte. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Florian Cotte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Courson's supporters rose to their feet, but Florian Cotte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilles Breard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute of the match, Florian Cotte got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gilles Breard was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Baptiste Josephine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Gilles Breard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olivier Degrave was the one to do the kick off. For all the effort they put into the match, the Guînes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Courson.
