After a defensive mix-up in Houilles's zone, Pierre-Antoine Hamard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hubert Haas came out of the goal and Pierre-Antoine Hamard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jonathan Ducos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Dimitri Gille got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Larrieu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Ducos, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half Houilles were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jonathan Ducos to strike the kick off in the second half. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Nogueira charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel Nogueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Berenger Avignon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Daniel Larrieu made a huge save. Steve Ferreol hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute Pierre-Antoine Hamard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hubert Haas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Houilles eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
