Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Benjamin Almeras made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to Bignon getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Martial Berthaud hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Joe Bachelet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremy Homo was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Rudy Villemagne made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Fabien Meurice sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Bachelet in the 19th minute of play forced Bignon's goalkeeper Jeremy Homo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Pierre-Olivier Colon came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Essars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierre-Olivier Colon couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Bignon's Axel Soulat got a free kick in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the game, Martial Berthaud was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bignon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Essars the free kick. After 24 played minutes Bignon got a freekick which was hit by Martial Berthaud. Jeremy Homo came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Essars's Pierre-Olivier Colon. But to his dismay, Pierre-Olivier Colon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Martial Berthaud got his second yellow card in the match during the 30th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 31 played minutes Bignon got a freekick which was hit by Martial Berthaud. In the 38th match minute, Bignon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josselin Burlot to maneuver through the defense. Fabien Meurice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Joe Bachelet made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Bignon's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre-Olivier Colon came free, but Jeremy Homo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bignon's goalkeeper Jeremy Homo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeremy Homo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Bachelet in the 54th minute of play. If Pierre-Olivier Colon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joe Bachelet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bignon's Axel Soulat got his second yellow card of the match in the 58th minute. The referee ordered Axel Soulat off the ground. In the 59th minute, Axel Soulat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 63 in the game by Pierre-Olivier Colon from a close distance when the talented Jeremy Homo managed to make a qualified save. Bignon's players were relieved. Joe Bachelet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Fabien Meurice got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joe Bachelet in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremy Homo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Joe Bachelet came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Essars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joe Bachelet couldn't finish the play. The Bignon supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Essars's performance. The match ended with a win for Essars.
