Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Johan Reboul started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Mériel's Johan Reboul sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mathys Petitdemange narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 7th match minute, Mériel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honore Coeuret to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Mériel's goal looked a bit too open when Celestin Gastaud came free, but Flavian Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Blanquefort were furious when Corentin Reynaert was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Blanquefort! In the 18th minute, Mériel got a penalty, and Stephane Lombardi placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Erwan Fix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Mathys Petitdemange tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph Vincendeau hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. If Norbert Tanneau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erwan Fix came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mathys Petitdemange could save by the left post. 33 minutes into the game, Dimitri Gaillet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mériel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blanquefort the free kick. A collision led to Mériel getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Dimitri Gaillet hit a great ball. Flavian Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norbert Tanneau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Blanquefort booed when Mériel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erwan Fix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norbert Tanneau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Flavian Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Erwan Fix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Johan Reboul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Norbert Tanneau to make the kick off. If Erwan Fix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathys Petitdemange stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johan Reboul's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. When Erwan Fix came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Mériel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erwan Fix couldn't finish the play. In the 64th match minute, Mériel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honore Coeuret to maneuver through the defense. Erwan Fix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathys Petitdemange having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Johan Reboul ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mathys Petitdemange was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After 72 minutes, Joseph Vincendeau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blanquefort and the Mériel players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Joseph Vincendeau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Johan Reboul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mériel's goalkeeper Flavian Fernandes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Norbert Tanneau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavian Fernandes having to interfere. Johan Reboul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathys Petitdemange made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Reboul in the 84th minute of play. A collision led to Mériel getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Erwan Fix hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mériel's zone, Norbert Tanneau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavian Fernandes came out of the goal and Norbert Tanneau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Blanquefort's Mathys Petitdemange played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Reboul in the 93rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Blanquefort's zone, Johan Reboul stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathys Petitdemange came out of the goal and Johan Reboul tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mériel had played much better football throughout.
