Erwin Pré breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute, Pfulgriesheim's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bernard Bance fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Alexandre Mignard came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Pfulgriesheim fans jumped to their feet. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaston Morelle in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erwin Pré prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Allan Ahmed blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roger Wurtz having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaston Morelle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erwin Pré made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexandre Mignard in the 53rd minute. Pfulgriesheim's Roger Wurtz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Develay in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bourdette's zone, Alexandre Mignard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erwin Pré came out of the goal and Alexandre Mignard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Mignard got free with Erwin Pré in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Bourdette getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Paulo Develay hit a great ball. Gilles Crombez kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernard Bance in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roger Wurtz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roger Wurtz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Develay, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelson Gardes during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gaston Morelle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erwin Pré having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded Pfulgriesheim left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bourdette.
