Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Eugene Helou made the kick off which started today's match. In the 3rd minute, Benjamin Vanlerberghe fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 5 minutes into the game, Martial Jousse cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jason Burdin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jason Burdin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martial Jousse went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Castagniers's goalkeeper Jason Burdin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Castagniers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Geoffroy Aldebert was slow to take the kick. During this time Maraval's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Maraval getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Vanlerberghe in the 43rd minute of play forced Maraval's goalkeeper Michel Rogez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Benjamin Vanlerberghe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benjamin Vanlerberghe made a kick off. Romaric Bedouet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michel Rogez having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Maraval's zone, Benjamin Vanlerberghe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Rogez came out of the goal and Benjamin Vanlerberghe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Eugene Helou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 64th match minute, Maraval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steven Vandaele to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute of the match Anatole Richez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jason Burdin skillfully saved the ball. Romaric Bedouet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
