After a rather tough play, Sundhoffen's Dorian Sailly got a free kick in the 15th minute. Jarod Mevel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Roullier in the 19th minute of play. Paul-Henri Jacquelin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joey Bergere in the 27th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Sundhoffen's goal looked a bit too open when Alain Barthez came free, but Jarod Mevel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Sundhoffen's Joey Bergere ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paul-Henri Jacquelin. Paul-Henri Jacquelin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. If Romeo Roullier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joey Bergere to strike the kick off in the second half. Joseph Denhez's late challenge caught a Gitonniére's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joseph Denhez helped the player get up and apologised. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sundhoffen! Sundhoffen's Roman Pistre got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joey Bergere blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul-Henri Jacquelin having to make a save. Alain Barthez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Jarod Mevel made a huge save. After some careless play in the Sundhoffen defense, Alain Barthez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jarod Mevel. The Sundhoffen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jarod Mevel should have stopped the shot. Fabrice Meissonnier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarod Mevel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Roullier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Roman Pistre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gitonniére eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
