The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 0-1 became the score in the 4th minute when Christian Roulland elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Vivien Requier acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 7th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Aime Bouleau. Sylvain Pradel hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Gustave Desvignes hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Romain Battini notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Contes's Leo Wallerand. Leo Wallerand was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Contes's Leo Wallerand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Champetier in the 30th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Contes's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Roulland came free, but Leo Wallerand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Roulland to make the kick off. Christian Roulland took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leo Wallerand. Leo Wallerand dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 65 minutes, Sylvain Pradel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ragon and the Contes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sylvain Pradel hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the game, Herve Fricker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ragon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Contes the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ragon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! Stephane Terral shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 73rd minute, one of Contes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Contes. Ernest Vinel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vivien Requier having to interfere. Sylvain Pradel was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 83rd minute, Sylvain Pradel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Harry Huon in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vivien Requier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 90 minutes into the match, Harry Huon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vivien Requier. Ragon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harry Huon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Contes's zone, Romain Battini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Wallerand came out of the goal and Romain Battini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the game, Alphonse Le Corre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Contes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ragon the free kick. After a rather tough play, Contes's Alphonse Le Corre got a free kick in the 95th minute. Ernest Vinel scored 2-4 in the 100th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vivien Requier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Ragon supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ragon would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
