Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hamid Theil took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some careless play in the Sambuc defense, Maximilien Defontaine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samy Baton. The Sambuc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samy Baton should have stopped the shot. Villepey's Olivier Bieber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Villepey from getting a goal against them. Maximilien Defontaine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Samy Baton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alexis Gris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute Maximilien Defontaine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samy Baton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samy Baton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexis Gris's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Omar Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olivier Bieber having to interfere. When Pascal Brossard came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Villepey fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Brossard couldn't finish the play. If Alexis Gris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexis Gris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute Hamid Theil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olivier Bieber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Renaud Blanchet fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villepey's protests and gave Renaud Blanchet a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Villepey getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Renaud Blanchet hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexis Gris stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sambuc's Omar Xavier got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maximilien Defontaine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Samy Baton made a huge save. Samy Baton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexis Gris in the 60th minute of the match. Samy Baton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexis Gris in the 75th minute of play. Sambuc's Samy Baton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexis Gris in the 76th minute of play. Olivier Bieber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Xavier in the 78th minute of the match. Alexis Gris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 minutes, Ryan Denis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sambuc and the Villepey players grew even worse after the yellow card.
