Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jarod Bal took the kick off in the first half of the match. Constantin Pelage fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Charles Parisi having to interfere. A collision led to Valenciennes getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Joaquim Smagghe hit a great ball. Terry Dournel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Victorien Langlois. Jacques Delvaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Terry Dournel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean-Marie Landier took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jean-Charles Parisi. Jean-Charles Parisi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 23rd match minute, Rouet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nathan Bordeaux to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Constantin Pelage in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean-Charles Parisi saved Rouet from getting behind. Jean-Charles Parisi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Marie Landier in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute Valenciennes were awarded a corner. Regis Maze went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 45th minute, Valenciennes's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jarod Bal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jean-Marie Landier to make the kick off. Jean-Charles Parisi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Smagghe in the 53rd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Jacques Delvaux had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Terry Dournel. Valenciennes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacques Delvaux was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 59 minutes, Eloi Bertho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valenciennes and the Rouet players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Valenciennes getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Eloi Bertho hit a great ball. Jacques Delvaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Dournel having to interfere. Constantin Pelage could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Jean-Charles Parisi made a huge save. 67 minutes into the game, Jarod Bal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rouet's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valenciennes the free kick. In the 70th minute Jacques Delvaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terry Dournel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valenciennes's Terry Dournel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarod Bal in the 75th minute of play. Jarod Bal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry Dournel having to interfere. Terry Dournel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacques Delvaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Joaquim Smagghe's late challenge caught a Rouet's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Smagghe helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Valenciennes getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Joaquim Smagghe hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Valenciennes's goal looked a bit too open when Jarod Bal came free, but Terry Dournel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rouet's Jacques Delvaux got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jean-Marie Landier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
