The Sergy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Merlin Thouvenin should have stopped the shot. Sergy's Merlin Thouvenin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Boinet in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sergy's Frédéric Queinnec got a free kick in the 18th minute. 21 minutes in the game, Franklin Boinet fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Merlin Thouvenin having to interfere. When Franklin Boinet came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Chavigny fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Boinet couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Honore Lima got free with Merlin Thouvenin in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frédéric Queinnec blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daryl Courrier having to make a save. The referee gave Sergy a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vivien Zajac, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chavigny's Daryl Courrier. 1-1. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chavigny's goalkeeper Daryl Courrier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chavigny's Daryl Courrier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frédéric Queinnec in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Dylan Pouillard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A nice corner shot did that Zinedine Ballandras got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Daryl Courrier quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Honore Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merlin Thouvenin having to interfere. Honore Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frédéric Queinnec made a kick off. If Nelson Brahimi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luc Pecot's late challenge caught a Sergy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luc Pecot helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Chavigny:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sergy:s goal. A hard shot 57 in the game by Nelson Brahimi from a close distance when the talented Daryl Courrier managed to make a qualified save. Chavigny's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dylan Pouillard during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sergy booed when Chavigny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Pouillard didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Vivien Zajac from long distance, 63 minutes into the match, got Daryl Courrier's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 67 minutes into the match, Chavigny's goal looked a bit too open when Frédéric Queinnec came free, but Daryl Courrier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chavigny's Daryl Courrier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Chavigny from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frédéric Queinnec in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daryl Courrier saved Chavigny from getting behind. Franklin Boinet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th match minute, Sergy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gauthier Delpech to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Sergy's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Boinet came free, but Merlin Thouvenin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franklin Boinet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merlin Thouvenin having to interfere. Nelson Brahimi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dylan Pouillard kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match Sergy got a corner. Chavigny's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vivien Zajac ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vivien Zajac made a great header on Sergy's corner, it was just that Chavigny's Daryl Courrier managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 97th minute Jonathan Levi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daryl Courrier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute, Clement Lorcy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
