An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Blondeel in the 29th minute of play forced Mulonnière's goalkeeper Auguste Ney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes of play, U.S. Marly's Victor Maerten made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Auguste Ney was left in no man's land by his defense there! A hard shot by Stéphane Do from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Mathias Josephine's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 38 played minutes U.S. Marly got a freekick which was hit by Victor Maerten. After a defensive mix-up in U.S. Marly's zone, Léopold Frantz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Josephine came out of the goal and Léopold Frantz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Blondeel got free with Auguste Ney in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Auguste Ney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Blondeel, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute Victor Maerten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Auguste Ney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 57 played minutes Mulonnière got a freekick which was hit by Patxi Bonnefoi. Victor Maerten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Auguste Ney came out and tried to block the shot, but Victor Maerten slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 71st minute. If Victor Maerten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U.S. Marly's Mathias Josephine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Léopold Frantz in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute Marc-Antoine Hartmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Josephine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mathias Josephine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léopold Frantz in the 80th minute of play. Bob Herrou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
