The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes, Pierrick Clair mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meylan and the The Magpies players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of The Magpies booed when Meylan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierrick Clair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bastien Duplan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Éluard Barrière came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Meylan's César Raillard. But to his dismay, César Raillard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 24 played minutes Meylan got a freekick which was hit by Ramzi Liger. Pierrick Clair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Éluard Barrière having to interfere. Meylan's Pierrick Clair got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, The Magpies's goal looked a bit too open when César Raillard came free, but Éluard Barrière reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. César Raillard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Éluard Barrière having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Guillaud during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierrick Clair in the 36th minute of play forced The Magpies's goalkeeper Éluard Barrière to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Magpies's goalkeeper Éluard Barrière, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pierrick Clair to make the kick off. When Félicien Turc fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Magpies's protests and gave Félicien Turc a yellow card for diving instead. Félicien Turc hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 56th play minute César Raillard came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Éluard Barrière. 1-2. In the 63rd minute, Pierrick Clair left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Meylan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Omar Flandin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
