The audience was convinced that Igor Dehay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frédéric Ronceray was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. After 38 minutes, Raymond Lorenzini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colonie and the Noyen 72 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, Igor Dehay reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Frédéric Ronceray. The goal made the score 1-3. Eugène Garrouste charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After having played for 94 minutes, Ernest Gourmelen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Noyen 72's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Gourmelen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Noyen 72 played a much better game than Colonie and deserved their victory. The Colonie players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
