After 3 minutes of play, FC Poteaux-Carrés's Joe Rivoire made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo Vivet was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 8th minute, Herbert Bourlet made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Vivet. Rutel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The audience was convinced that Herbert Bourlet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Vivet was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. The Rutel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Vivet should have stopped the shot. In the 29th match minute, Rutel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olivier Bordes to maneuver through the defense. Anthony Dragon might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hugo Vivet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anthony Dragon ran back to his position shaking his head. Herbert Bourlet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rutel's goalkeeper Hugo Vivet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hugo Vivet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Bourlet in the 37th minute of play. If Simon Pénaud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Pénaud stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Herbert Bourlet's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Hugo Vivet skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hervé Joulain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Vivet having to interfere. Hugo Vivet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Herbert Bourlet in the 79th minute. Herbert Bourlet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Simon Pénaud's late challenge caught a FC Poteaux-Carrés's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Pénaud helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Rutel's Simon Pénaud got a free kick in the 81st minute. Herbert Bourlet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Hugo Vivet made a huge save. FC Poteaux-Carrés's Anthony Dragon managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Harold Nebout in the 83 minute of the game. Olivier Bordes came free in the 86th minute and tried to tip the ball over Mounir Brien, but to the joy of FC Poteaux-Carrés's supporters the ball went over. If Herbert Bourlet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anthony Dragon got free with Hugo Vivet in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute, Herbert Bourlet fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hugo Vivet, passed just outside the right post. The Rutel fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Poteaux-Carrés were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
