Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The audience was convinced that Nicolas Bricaud's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theo Jury was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 4th minute Eden Ramette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Créton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clem Leseur spun around in front of the goal 7 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Defrou's goal. Brandon Créton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eden Ramette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 minutes of play, Defrou's Blaise Baptiste made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Theo Jury was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Defrou's Léonard Poussin got a free kick in the 14th minute. The supporters of Defrou booed when Valenciennes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alou Lazare didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathieu Amiard, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Theo Jury stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Blaise Baptiste's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodrigue Comby during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Defrou getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Rodrigue Comby hit a great ball. Clem Leseur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Brandon Créton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute Clem Leseur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Créton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clem Leseur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Brandon Créton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute Eden Ramette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Créton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Bricaud blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Theo Jury having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eden Ramette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Clem Leseur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valenciennes's supporters rose to their feet, but Clem Leseur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brandon Créton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hassan Dupas kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Valenciennes's Alou Lazare slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Brandon Créton. That made the score 1-1 after 56 minutes of play. Nicolas Bricaud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Jury having to interfere. If Robin Jaussaud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Defrou's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Clem Leseur fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Defrou getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Rodrigue Comby hit a great ball. In the 76th match minute, Defrou was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léonard Poussin to maneuver through the defense. Theo Jury showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blaise Baptiste, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Alou Lazare hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Mathieu Amiard sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Valenciennes's Theo Jury didn't even have to move. Brandon Créton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clem Leseur in the 93rd minute. If Eden Ramette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
