Johnny Badel kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Charles De Carvalho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 13 minutes, Johnny Badel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olympique Île de France and the Barbentane players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 13 played minutes Olympique Île de France got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Badel. 18 minutes into the match, Barbentane's Charles De Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stéphane Giordanengo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Olympique Île de France's Karim Abidal in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barbentane's goalie prevented a goal. 26 minutes into the game, Olympique Île de France's Karim Abidal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pacome Landier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jean-Yves Bentz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute, Jean-Marie Brossier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute, Ulysse Legeard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Gilles Brand in the 35th minute really tested Stéphane Giordanengo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jean-Marie Brossier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Stéphane Giordanengo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Olympique Île de France's goalkeeper Stéphane Giordanengo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean-Marie Brossier. Karim Abidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jean-Yves Bentz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pacome Landier having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Charles De Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. Stéphane Giordanengo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Marie Brossier, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 58 minutes into the match, Olympique Île de France's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Marie Brossier came free, but Stéphane Giordanengo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 played minutes Olympique Île de France got a freekick which was hit by Walter Pasdeloup. Gilles Brand was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Charles De Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Olympique Île de France's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Marie Brossier came free, but Stéphane Giordanengo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jean-Marie Brossier took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stéphane Giordanengo. Stéphane Giordanengo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Stéphane Giordanengo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Charles De Carvalho went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score.
