He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carency reached it. Joe Frank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Bryan Blasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romain Jallat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marc-Antoine Collado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romain Jallat's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Hoenheim's Wilfried Clapier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marc-Antoine Collado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Romain Jallat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc-Antoine Collado having to interfere. When Sacha Lecordier fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hoenheim's protests and gave Sacha Lecordier a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Frank in the 55th minute of play forced Hoenheim's goalkeeper Bryan Blasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Carency supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hoenheim's performance. The match ended with a win for Hoenheim.
