But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dominique Chaubet couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, Benoit Audouy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noël Aumont. FC INTERSTELLAR UNITED's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benoit Audouy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Benoit Audouy notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC INTERSTELLAR UNITED's Noël Aumont. Noël Aumont was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Noël Aumont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominique Chaubet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Bétheny's Arthur Cocu got control of the ball when Barnabé Brugier tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Bilal Morizot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Barnabé Brugier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Cocu having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Benoit Audouy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arthur Cocu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barnabé Brugier, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benoit Audouy was the one to do the kick off. A hard shot 56 in the game by Dominique Chaubet from a close distance when the talented Noël Aumont managed to make a qualified save. FC INTERSTELLAR UNITED's players were relieved. FC INTERSTELLAR UNITED's Barnabé Brugier got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barnabé Brugier in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arthur Cocu saved Bétheny from getting behind. Barnabé Brugier struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Arthur Cocu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC INTERSTELLAR UNITED. Arthur Cocu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barnabé Brugier in the 69th minute of the match. Barnabé Brugier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Cocu having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bétheny's zone, Jocelyn Boudet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arthur Cocu came out of the goal and Jocelyn Boudet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barnabé Brugier in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arthur Cocu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Barnabé Brugier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Bilal Morizot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Noël Aumont was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Benoit Audouy showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 91 minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see FC INTERSTELLAR UNITED lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
