Villate's Fred Lanza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludovic Moutard in the 11th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when César Manouvrier got free with Fred Lanza in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ludovic Moutard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Villate's goalkeeper Fred Lanza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by César Manouvrier. André Rousselin's late challenge caught a Ebange's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jordan Gomis walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Ludovic Moutard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Lanza having to interfere. If Samir Demarcq had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When André Rousselin came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Villate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Rousselin couldn't finish the play. Sam Tissandier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samir Demarcq in the 42nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ludovic Moutard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ebange's supporters rose to their feet, but Ludovic Moutard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred Lanza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 48th minute, César Manouvrier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ludovic Moutard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ludovic Moutard struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Fred Lanza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ebange. After 61 played minutes Villate got a freekick which was hit by Romuald Stanislas. If Ludovic Moutard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Romuald Stanislas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. César Manouvrier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Lanza having to interfere. Ludovic Moutard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the match, Villate's goal looked a bit too open when Ludovic Moutard came free, but Fred Lanza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If César Manouvrier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When André Rousselin came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Villate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Rousselin couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Villate's zone, Ludovic Moutard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fred Lanza came out of the goal and Ludovic Moutard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
