If Wilfried Pflieger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pierre-Henri Froissard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Maximilien Chapin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrice Welter charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabrice Welter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tristan Chailloux was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Dijon's Noel Duthilleul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfried Pflieger in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Pouilly's goalkeeper Maximilien Chapin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roger Bourquin. If Pierre-Henri Froissard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Dijon booed when Pouilly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Baptiste Mandin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximilien Chapin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre-Henri Froissard, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Roger Bourquin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Maximilien Chapin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Noel Duthilleul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Fougerouse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pierre-Henri Froissard made a kick off. Pierre-Henri Froissard struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Maximilien Chapin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dijon. Dijon's Fabrice Welter got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Pierre-Henri Froissard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maximilien Chapin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 78th minute Pierre-Henri Froissard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximilien Chapin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Pierre-Henri Froissard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Maximilien Chapin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Noel Duthilleul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Fougerouse, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pouilly players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Dijon.
