Kylian Mériot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Herbaux in the 6th minute of play. If Aurélien Raguin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21stth minute of the game Paulo Beltran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montpellier Herault SC 2's Clovis Bernot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Clovis Bernot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Beltran went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Clovis Bernot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurélien Raguin, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The supporters of Goeulzin booed when Montpellier Herault SC 2 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul-Émile Gascoin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Beltran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Beltran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Beltran in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clovis Bernot saved Montpellier Herault SC 2 from getting behind. If Paulo Beltran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddy Herbaux struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Kylian Mériot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montpellier Herault SC 2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Beltran was the one to do the kick off. Aurélien Raguin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Beltran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Clovis Bernot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Montpellier Herault SC 2's Joffrey Albert got a free kick in the 57th minute. After 60th play minutes Aurélien Raguin shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Clovis Bernot and just under the crossbar into goal. Clovis Bernot was a little too slow when Paulo Beltran got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 76th minute, Joffrey Albert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jérémy Manoury hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Farid Blot, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Herbaux in the 82nd minute of play forced Goeulzin's goalkeeper Kylian Mériot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Beltran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Clovis Bernot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. If Aurélien Raguin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Beltran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clovis Bernot having to interfere. Aurélien Raguin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Clovis Bernot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Montpellier Herault SC 2 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Goeulzin were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
