In the 3rd match minute, Ennecourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grégory Gabillard to maneuver through the defense. Ennecourt's Ben Lecœur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noël Ducellier in the 4th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Guy Garrel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guy Garrel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Lecœur having to interfere. Ben Lecœur stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Noël Ducellier's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ennecourt's zone, Guy Garrel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ben Lecœur came out of the goal and Guy Garrel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Guy Garrel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thumeries's supporters rose to their feet, but Guy Garrel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ben Lecœur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guy Garrel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Désiré Govou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igor Ponton in the 36th minute. If Guy Garrel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute of the match Thumeries got a corner. Ennecourt's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Didier Gaudy ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Noël Ducellier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karim Carayon made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Thumeries's goal looked a bit too open when Karim Carayon came free, but Désiré Govou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Pascal Bedouet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ennecourt's Mathis Goubert couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 59th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Thumeries. Youri Berthonneau charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Youri Berthonneau the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 69th minute of the match Victorien Parent shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Désiré Govou showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Guy Garrel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Ben Lecœur made a huge save. Désiré Govou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karim Carayon in the 73rd minute of play. Désiré Govou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karim Carayon in the 81st minute of the match. Igor Ponton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Thumeries's Ali Cisse got a free kick in the 87th minute. Mohamed-Ali Lheureux's late challenge caught a Ennecourt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
