Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francis Luciani in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Petitpas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Evan Fischer came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Lambres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evan Fischer couldn't finish the play. Lambres's Francis Luciani got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Evan Fischer came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Lambres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evan Fischer couldn't finish the play. When Maxence Lambert came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Avignon fans jumped to their feet. If Gaston Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Francis Luciani sped through Avignon's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benjamin Petitpas. Evan Fischer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Petitpas having to interfere. If Gaston Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Fontes made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Francis Luciani put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benjamin Petitpas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francis Luciani during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lambres getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Francis Luciani hit a great ball. Benjamin Petitpas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evan Fischer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin Petitpas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evan Fischer in the 67th minute of play. Benjamin Petitpas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Désiré Gaudry, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Jérémie Antoine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avignon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lambres the free kick. After 72 played minutes Avignon got a freekick which was hit by Jérémie Antoine. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 78 minutes into the game, Gaston Fontes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Renaud Gascoin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Francis Luciani who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Benjamin Petitpas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Salim Merceron's late challenge caught a Lambres's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salim Merceron helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Avignon getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Salim Merceron hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Francis Luciani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Evan Fischer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Petitpas didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 92nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-3. When Lambres's Evan Fischer in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Avignon's goalie prevented a goal. The Avignon supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lambres's performance. The match ended with a win for Lambres.
