Marcel Durieu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Massot having to interfere. Lilian Michon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Florentin Stutzmann fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chalezeule's protests and gave Florentin Stutzmann a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Chalezeule got a freekick which was hit by Florentin Stutzmann. Ferdinand Royant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Massot having to interfere. Yvan Jacq's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emmanuel Griveau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Chalezeule's Charlie Massot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lilian Michon in the 35th minute of play. Jean-Christophe Fillatre kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Lilian Michon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Massot having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lilian Michon in the 46th minute of play forced Chalezeule's goalkeeper Charlie Massot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute, Nice's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tim Chevreux fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Yvan Jacq sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferdinand Royant made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, one of Chalezeule:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chalezeule. Charlie Massot went to the wrong direction when Erwin De Almeida was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Nice's Emmanuel Griveau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrice Horel in the 56th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Davy Miel during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Davy Miel hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After 60 minutes, Noureddine Malle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nice and the Chalezeule players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 played minutes Nice got a freekick which was hit by Davy Miel. Lilian Michons short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Charlie Massot to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ferdinand Royant received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Charlie Massot came out and tried to block the shot, but Ferdinand Royant slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 70th minute. Ferdinand Royant hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Tim Chevreux struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Emmanuel Griveau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chalezeule. Tim Chevreux might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emmanuel Griveau. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tim Chevreux ran back to his position shaking his head. 80 minutes into the game, Marcel Durieu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nice's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chalezeule the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yvan Jacq in the 84th minute of play forced Nice's goalkeeper Emmanuel Griveau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chalezeule's goalkeeper Charlie Massot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Charlie Massot managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Nice's Lilian Michon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Patrice Horel charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrice Horel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd match minute, Chalezeule was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrice Horel to maneuver through the defense. In the 94thth minute of the game Ferdinand Royant who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chalezeule's Charlie Massot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A hard shot 98 in the game by Lilian Michon from a close distance when the talented Charlie Massot managed to make a qualified save. Chalezeule's players were relieved. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Nice eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
