The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Achille Grenot hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Paul-Henri Excoffier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enzo Kowalczyk in the 8th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Alexis Bruchet put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Xeuilley fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Kergaradec a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Achille Grenot, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Xeuilley's Christof Kentzler. 0-1. In the 16th minute of the match, Hugues Mezieres tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paul-Henri Excoffier saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerard Tomas in the 17th minute of play forced Xeuilley's goalkeeper Christof Kentzler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Hugues Mezieres took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Paul-Henri Excoffier to make any attempt to save it. Christof Kentzler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thierry Dionnet, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Kergaradec's Jean-Christophe Vallade got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Antony Andry kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugues Mezieres was the one to do the kick off. Antony Andry made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Xeuilley's Enzo Kowalczyk. If Hugues Mezieres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xeuilley's Christof Kentzler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerard Tomas in the 55th minute of play. Christof Kentzler made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Thierry Dionnet sent off a good shot on target. After 62 minutes, Jeremy Bonnichon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kergaradec and the Xeuilley players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jeremy Bonnichon hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Hugues Mezieres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Kergaradec's Gerard Tomas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christof Kentzler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thierry Dionnet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Christof Kentzler made a huge save. In the 82nd minute of the match, Thierry Dionnet got a very nice opportunity to score, but Christof Kentzler was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Xeuilley's Samy Fischer was substituted for Redouane Garrigues. Thierry Dionnet hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Christof Kentzler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerard Tomas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xeuilley's Christof Kentzler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerard Tomas in the 94th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
