Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henri Jacquart in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marius Ferro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Bigeard in the 5th minute of play forced Sergy's goalkeeper Marius Ferro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliott Berton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Marius Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Nangy's zone, Marouane Chereau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Miquet came out of the goal and Marouane Chereau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Sergy booed when Nangy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommy Gherardi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Youssef Bourdel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Martin Miquet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Nangy's goalkeeper Martin Miquet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marouane Chereau. 22 minutes into the match, Nangy's goal looked a bit too open when Youssef Bourdel came free, but Martin Miquet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruce Viguier kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Marouane Chereau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Miquet having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Sergy's Martin Miquet threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Youssef Bourdel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Roland Bigeard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sergy's Marius Ferro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Bigeard in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute Youssef Bourdel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Miquet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Gherardi hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Charles-Henri Pepe during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Sergy got a freekick which was hit by Charles-Henri Pepe. Sergy's Marius Ferro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Bigeard in the 48th minute of play.
Roland Bigeard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Ferro having to interfere. Marius Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Bigeard in the 58th minute of play. Sergy's Marius Ferro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roland Bigeard in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th minute of the match Josselin Félicité shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martin Miquet showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Eliott Berton came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Nangy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliott Berton couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roland Bigeard in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marius Ferro saved Sergy from getting behind. Sergy's Marius Ferro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Sergy from getting a goal against them. Francis Saumon's late challenge caught a Nangy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francis Saumon helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sergy's Francis Saumon got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Eliott Berton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nangy's Martin Miquet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marouane Chereau in the 80th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Tommy Gherardi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roland Bigeard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Ferro having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sergy's goalkeeper Marius Ferro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eliott Berton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 played minutes Sergy got a freekick which was hit by Charles-Henri Pepe. 93 minutes into the match, Sergy's Marouane Chereau sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Miquet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 94 minutes of play, Sergy's Youssef Bourdel made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Miquet was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Nangy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sergy.
