The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pierre-Emmanuel Latil succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 5th playminute. Dimitri Debaisieux showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mamadou Canovas in the 10th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Kissingeno Club's Madjid Blot got a free kick in the 13th minute. Dimitri Debaisieux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mamadou Canovas, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Bouguenais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mamadou Canovas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Pierre-Henri Bonnat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dimitri Debaisieux was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pierre-Henri Bonnat made a kick off. Bertrand Duris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre-Louis Fauquembergue in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Bouguenais booed when Kissingeno Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramzy Bacle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pierre-Henri Bonnat in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dimitri Debaisieux prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bouguenais's Bertrand Duris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre-Louis Fauquembergue in the 61st minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Kissingeno Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Pascal Lorre to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre-Henri Bonnat in the 62nd minute of play forced Kissingeno Club's goalkeeper Dimitri Debaisieux to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Pierre-Emmanuel Latil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimitri Debaisieux was a little too slow when Pierre-Henri Bonnat got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-2. After 73 played minutes Bouguenais got a freekick which was hit by Cyrille Koessler. Bertrand Duris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre-Emmanuel Latil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mamadou Canovas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dimitri Debaisieux having to interfere. Bertrand Duris came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Kissingeno Club's Pierre-Louis Fauquembergue. But to his dismay, Pierre-Louis Fauquembergue quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 87 minutes into the game, Richard Warin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bouguenais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kissingeno Club the free kick. Bertrand Duris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pierre-Louis Fauquembergue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
