Hugues Guilluy helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Villecresnes got a freekick which was hit by Hugues Guilluy. In the 7th minute of the match Regis Bluteau sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jean-Philippe Bret skillfully saved the ball. Pierre Ferriere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Philippe Bret having to interfere. Ben Moulet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sylvain Ronceray read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Billy Paulet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dylan Vandenabeele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 13 minutes into the match, Pompey's Pierre Ferriere sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean-Philippe Bret narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Pompey getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Carlos Lecat hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, one of Villecresnes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Villecresnes. After a defensive mix-up in Villecresnes's zone, Pierre Ferriere stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Philippe Bret came out of the goal and Pierre Ferriere tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dylan Vandenabeele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 30 minutes, Dylan Vandenabeele managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pompey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dylan Vandenabeele was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31stth minute of the game Dylan Vandenabeele who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villecresnes's Jean-Philippe Bret was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 33rd minute, Fabrice Grondin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sylvain Ronceray was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jean-Philippe Bret stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dylan Vandenabeele's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. If Ben Moulet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sylvain Ronceray came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Villecresnes's Fabrice Grondin. But to his dismay, Fabrice Grondin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ben Moulet was the one to do the kick off. Ben Moulet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylvain Ronceray having to interfere. Olivier Kerloch hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pompey's goalkeeper Sylvain Ronceray, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 57 minutes, Olivier Kerloch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pompey and the Villecresnes players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Villecresnes booed when Pompey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olivier Kerloch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean-Philippe Bret showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylan Vandenabeele in the 63rd minute of the match. Fabrice Grondin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylvain Ronceray having to interfere. Jean-Philippe Bret showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylan Vandenabeele in the 73rd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the game, Dylan Vandenabeele cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Jean-Philippe Bret was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Pompey getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Olivier Kerloch hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dylan Vandenabeele in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Philippe Bret prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 88th minute of the match, Ben Moulet got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sylvain Ronceray was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Pompey's Sylvain Ronceray got control of the ball when Fabrice Grondin tried to sneak it across the goal line. During the 92nd minute of the match Olivier Kerloch completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Olivier Kerloch a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Pierre Ferriere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jean-Philippe Bret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
