The audience was convinced that Charles Loubet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roger Jenny was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Montreuil reached it. Jacques Mahu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, Laudière's Charles Loubet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Charles Loubet was the one to do the kick off. The Montreuil players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
