Gérald Soula showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kilian Tisseyre, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Verrières's Rodrigo Raguin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gérald Soula narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 42 minutes, Mustapha Pénard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lisses's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mustapha Pénard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lisses's Mustapha Pénard got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Lisses were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustapha Pénard in the 83rd minute of play forced Verrières's goalkeeper Hervé Etcheberry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, Kilian Tisseyre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Verrières's goalkeeper Hervé Etcheberry, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lisses players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Verrières.
