Youri Jouanneau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Hugot having to interfere. If Samy Broquet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Besançon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gameiro Forel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 93 minutes into the game, when Marc-Olivier Le Clech put in a rough tackle. In the 94th minute, Marc-Olivier Le Clech hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Vikings were the better team. Vikings's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
