Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Djimmy Ratinaud started the match with the kick off. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Olympique de Marseille's Djimmy Ratinaud in the 4th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Didier Guerreiro was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Valmondois through an amazing save. Vincent Lannuzel hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Valmondois's Didier Guerreiro got control of the ball when Vincent Lannuzel tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th match minute, Valmondois was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Michel Le Dantec to maneuver through the defense. In the 13thth minute of the game Djimmy Ratinaud who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valmondois's Didier Guerreiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique de Marseille's zone, Joey Bisiaux stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léon Barbarin came out of the goal and Joey Bisiaux tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Greg Blein hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Joey Bisiaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léon Barbarin having to interfere. Léon Barbarin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabien Duchet in the 22nd minute of the match. The supporters of Valmondois booed when Olympique de Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles-Emmanuel Picaud didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabien Duchet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Fabien Duchet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joey Bisiaux to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Valmondois's Jean-Michel Le Dantec ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Léon Barbarin. Léon Barbarin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. 56 minutes into the match, Joey Bisiaux dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Léon Barbarin, 0-2. Joey Bisiaux received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Léon Barbarin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Steve Ronceray kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Léon Barbarin. That made the score 0-3 in the 67 minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Valmondois was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve Ronceray to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rachid Hochet during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Valmondois booed when Olympique de Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rachid Hochet didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Djimmy Ratinaud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Djimmy Ratinaud scored 1-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Didier Guerreiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Valmondois could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Olympique de Marseille throughout the match.
