Loïc Ruhlmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Georges Demarest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Loïc Ruhlmann notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Metz's Georges Demarest. Georges Demarest was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Loïc Ruhlmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georges Demarest having to interfere. If Loïc Ruhlmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Creuzot were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Bizot made a kick off. The supporters of Metz booed when Creuzot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barthélémy Keller didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yves Géry kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 64th match minute, Creuzot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barthélémy Keller to maneuver through the defense. Martin Chrétien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georges Demarest having to interfere. Georges Demarest was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Loïc Ruhlmann capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Loïc Ruhlmann really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. If Loïc Ruhlmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Metz's David Bizot got a free kick in the 84th minute. The Metz supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Creuzot's performance. The match ended with a win for Creuzot.
