Donald Oster might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geoffroy Guenot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 94th minute, one of Racing Club Lyon:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Racing Club Lyon. When the match had been going on for 98 minutes, Rousselière's Claude Jumel got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mohamed-Ali Nicollet. Rousselière's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
