With an all-out effort, Mercier's William Campagne threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Félicien Daudin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 8 minutes into the match, F&C Faucon Team's Quentin Dufau sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romeo Delcroix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jean-Paul Coutier's late challenge caught a Mercier's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Félicien Daudin in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg William Campagne saved F&C Faucon Team from getting behind. In the 24th minute, Mercier's Félicien Daudin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind William Campagne. William Campagne yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Quentin Dufau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeo Delcroix read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. If Germain Billot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alou Belloc fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F&C Faucon Team's protests and gave Alou Belloc a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, F&C Faucon Team's Alou Belloc got a free kick in the 30th minute. Harry Attia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. William Campagne was out of position in the 43 minute of play, and Félicien Daudin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Félicien Daudin really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Félicien Daudin was the one to do the kick off. When Germain Billot came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the F&C Faucon Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Germain Billot couldn't finish the play. Jean-Paul Coutier kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. William Campagne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Félicien Daudin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Germain Billot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Delcroix having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Félicien Daudin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercier's supporters rose to their feet, but Félicien Daudin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Campagne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in F&C Faucon Team's zone, Félicien Daudin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Campagne came out of the goal and Félicien Daudin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. William Campagne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Attia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Mercier booed when F&C Faucon Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyprien Bonhomme didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, F&C Faucon Team's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Attia came free, but William Campagne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 93 minutes, Germain Billot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F&C Faucon Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Germain Billot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Harry Attia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mercier's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
