Claude Gilquin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Voreppe's goalkeeper Thibault Aubree had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronan Nicolau. 11 minutes into the game, Auguste Fouet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Voreppe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Paulo Futebol Clube the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Mongis in the 14th minute of play forced São Paulo Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Claude Gilquin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronan Nicolau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thibault Aubree read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After 20 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Yann Frébourg. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Jonathan Mongis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Voreppe's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Mongis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claude Gilquin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claude Gilquin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaud Darnis in the 34th minute of the match. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronan Nicolau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thibault Aubree stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronan Nicolau's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Thibault Aubree took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Nectoux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Mongis got free with Claude Gilquin in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. São Paulo Futebol Clube's Ronan Nicolau got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claude Gilquin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaud Darnis in the 80th minute of play. Elias Nectoux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thibault Aubree having to interfere. After 91 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Batiste Calvet. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Ronan Nicolau managed to get in a good position for a shot.
