When Yannick Yver fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maxéville FC's protests and gave Yannick Yver a yellow card for diving instead. Yannick Yver hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Mourad Capet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrice Gilles having to interfere. Gustave Desmets short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Paulo Poullain to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 23 minutes into the game, Matthieu Douay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Acheville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maxéville FC the free kick. Matthieu Douay got his second yellow card in the match during the 25th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 25th match minute, Acheville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthieu Douay to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Maxéville FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gustave Desmet fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Donovan Guette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabrice Gilles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mourad Capet in the 40th minute of the match. When Mourad Capet came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Maxéville FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mourad Capet couldn't finish the play. After the first half Maxéville FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mourad Capet to make the kick off. Acheville's Fabrice Gilles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mourad Capet in the 51st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Mourad Capet took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Fabrice Gilles to make any attempt to save it. After 59 played minutes Acheville got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Pousse. Philibert Dubuis kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Yann Cavalli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renan Launay got free with Fabrice Gilles in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabrice Gilles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mourad Capet in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Romeo Gendre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute Gustave Desmet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Poullain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romuald Manson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Poullain having to interfere. Gustave Desmet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Paulo Poullain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Constantin Pousse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Poullain. Maxéville FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Constantin Pousse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 87 minutes into the match, Renan Launay notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Acheville's Fabrice Gilles. Fabrice Gilles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paulo Poullain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustave Desmet in the 94th minute of play. The Maxéville FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
