Jimmy Molle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Marc-Olivier Guillou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The long shot by Rudy Blaize in the 7th minute really tested Marc-Olivier Guillou's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Marc-Olivier Guillou didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hakim Aubel went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Lironde's Batiste Angibaud got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute, Hakim Aubel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Lironde getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Igor Mirabel hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Lironde's Claude Ziegler got a free kick in the 26th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Camille Diop to make the kick off. Marc-Olivier Guillou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camille Diop in the 58th minute of the match. Marc-Olivier Guillou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camille Diop in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Rennes's goal looked a bit too open when Hamza Chabanne came free, but Octave Lajoinie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Mirabel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marc-Olivier Guillou didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hakim Aubel went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 84 minutes into the match, Camille Diop notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Lironde's Marc-Olivier Guillou. Marc-Olivier Guillou was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hakim Aubel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc-Olivier Guillou having to interfere. If Camille Diop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
