Gavotte's Sébastien Caudal got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 6th match minute, Haillan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thibault Dureuil to maneuver through the defense. Didier Favard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kilian Perdreau in the 12th minute of the match. After 15 minutes, Aymerick Renoux mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haillan and the Gavotte players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, Aymerick Renoux hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavotte's Jean-Baptiste Long got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Didier Favard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henri Fouquet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martial Laverdure kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. A collision led to Haillan getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Batiste Didelot hit a great ball. Kilian Perdreau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Didier Favard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haillan were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Gavotte's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Billy Lindblom took the corner. In the 47th minute of the match Stéphane Siegel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didier Favard showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Haillan's Régis Delafosse was substituted for Leonard Lemiesz. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henri Fouquet made a kick off. After some careless play in the Haillan defense, Kilian Perdreau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Didier Favard. The Haillan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Didier Favard should have stopped the shot. Christophe Gaulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Tardy, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Sébastien Caudal charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sébastien Caudal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Haillan booed when Gavotte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sébastien Caudal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 minutes of play, Haillan's Aymerick Renoux made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christophe Gaulin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Haillan's zone, Henri Fouquet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didier Favard came out of the goal and Henri Fouquet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Tardy in the 79th minute of play forced Gavotte's goalkeeper Christophe Gaulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christophe Gaulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Tardy, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Christophe Gaulin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Régis Delafosse in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Gavotte's goal looked a bit too open when Régis Delafosse came free, but Christophe Gaulin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haillan's Serge Leoni was substituted for Wenzel Blömeke. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
