In the 10th minute Mamadou Liard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yannick Giroux saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabrice Dachicourt was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 12 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, one of Lyon 69ers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lyon 69ers. In the 19th minute, Ghislain Pedron ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yannick Giroux was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The referee ignored Lyon 69ers's protests and gave Ramzi Pietri a yellow card for diving instead. Ramzi Pietri kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omer Leboucher in the 42nd minute of play forced Lyon 69ers's goalkeeper Yannick Giroux to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Dave Labitte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 94 minutes, Rayan Hochet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lyon 69ers and the Nangy players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Nangy booed when Lyon 69ers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rayan Hochet didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Franklin Nicol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Nangy left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lyon 69ers.
