The Antibes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabian Paul should have stopped the shot. FC Viking's Jordan Delhaye got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Romaric Bodin fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Antibes's protests and gave Romaric Bodin a yellow card for diving instead. Romaric Bodin kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Clovis Lanteri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Fabian Paul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jordan Delhaye struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Fabian Paul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Viking. Arthur Klinger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute Arthur Klinger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sam Christiaens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antibes's Fabian Paul proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Antibes from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute, Arthur Klinger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Antibes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 78th minute, Antibes's Philibert Royon seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Philibert Royon the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Antibes protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Philibert Royon had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Antibes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! Fabian Paul went to the wrong direction when Joaquim Geffray was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Jordan Delhaye was extremely unlucky when he, in the 83rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Clovis Lanteri came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the FC Viking fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clovis Lanteri couldn't finish the play. After having played for 90 minutes, Bruce Merlaud managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Antibes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruce Merlaud was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the game, Antibes's Bruce Merlaud nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sam Christiaens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1.
