But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Fournet couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Richardménil's zone, Karl Fournet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaétan Hermand came out of the goal and Karl Fournet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddy Huss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl Fournet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaétan Hermand having to interfere. In the 18th match minute, Richardménil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jocelyn Thierry to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 24 minutes, Fabrice Tiberghien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Sourcy's Freddy Huss got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Sourcy's Karl Fournet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl Fournet might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gaétan Hermand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karl Fournet ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 96th minute Freddy Huss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaétan Hermand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Sourcy were the better team. Sourcy's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
