If Maxime Cruchet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maxime Cruchet who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Eddy Elissalde when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Shelby FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Cédric Castan hit a great ball. Jean-Paul Loir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johan Pre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Sommerviller booed when Shelby FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cédric Castan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean-Paul Loir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johan Pre in the 20th minute of the match. Johan Pre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jean-Paul Loir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raymond Colombet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, John-David Blancard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Shelby FC's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Agard came free, but Jean-Paul Loir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Johan Pre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sommerviller's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johan Pre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 33 minutes, Samuel Agard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eddy Elissalde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raymond Colombet's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Raymond Colombet was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 54 minutes, Samuel Agard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sommerviller's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Agard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jean-Paul Loir came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sommerviller's Johan Pre. But to his dismay, Johan Pre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Jean-Paul Loir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Agard in the 66th minute of play. Jean-Paul Loir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Agard in the 68th minute of the match. Johan Pre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th match minute, Sommerviller was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Pierre Collet to maneuver through the defense. After 72 minutes, Denis Varnier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shelby FC and the Sommerviller players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Shelby FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Raymond Colombet hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Jean-Pierre Collet notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Shelby FC's Jean-Paul Loir. Jean-Paul Loir was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jean-Paul Loir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Agard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Maxime Cruchet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shelby FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Maxime Cruchet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddy Elissalde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Johan Pre came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Sommerviller fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johan Pre couldn't finish the play. The Shelby FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sommerviller's performance. The match ended with a win for Sommerviller.
