A collision led to Lavérune getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Hubert Frugier hit a great ball. In the 21st minute of the match Aurélien Moriceau sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reynald Levasseur skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Modeste Chagnon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lionel Gaud was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Ramzi Chastang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reynald Levasseur having to make a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ramzi Chastang made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Émilien Mussard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynald Levasseur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynald Levasseur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramzi Chastang, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute Émilien Mussard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynald Levasseur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Modeste Chagnon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Lionel Gaud made a huge save. When Modeste Chagnon came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Lavérune fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modeste Chagnon couldn't finish the play. After having played for 65 minutes, Ramzi Chastang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brou's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramzi Chastang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joël Le Moign hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Noël Durier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lionel Gaud having to interfere. Reynald Levasseur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramzi Chastang, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Ramzi Chastang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Reynald Levasseur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramzi Chastang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Reynald Levasseur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramzi Chastang in the 77th minute of the match. When Ramzi Chastang got free in front of the goal in the 79th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Reynald Levasseur was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Aurélien Moriceau hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Lionel Gaud made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Modeste Chagnon sent off a good shot on target. The referee felt a red card was in order, 89 minutes into the game, when Roger Lopes put in a rough tackle. 88 minutes into the game, one of Lavérune:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Aurélien Moriceau shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Modeste Chagnon got free with Lionel Gaud in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brou's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
