If Edgard Galindo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lomme's Desire Maze played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Paul Eymard in the 19th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Titouan Fontana during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Montferrier booed when Lomme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Titouan Fontana didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 played minutes Montferrier got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Chailloux. 42 minutes into the match, Montferrier's goalkeeper Luc Casier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierre-Henri Arpin. Luc Casier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bixente Goasdoue in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Oscar Jouanneau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lomme's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Jouanneau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luc Casier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Charlie Noyer hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Bixente Goasdoue came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Lomme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bixente Goasdoue couldn't finish the play. Luc Casier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre-Henri Arpin in the 86th minute of the match. Desire Maze showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Paul Eymard in the 88th minute of the match. Jean-Paul Eymard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Montferrier supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Montferrier would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
