Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jean Caze started the match with the kick off. If Alfred Doreau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augustin Pellegrin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Lanterne's Philippe Filloux got a free kick in the 26th minute. Herblay's Grégoire Léger shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 27th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Maurice Lecat but with some difficulty. Alfred Doreau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Guyon having to interfere. After 35 played minutes Herblay's Augustin Pellegrin stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Maurice Lecat stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Lanterne of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Lanterne's Jonathan Haffner got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 55 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Grégoire Léger. Jonathan Haffner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Guyon having to interfere. Jonathan Haffner struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Luis Guyon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lanterne. When Jonathan Haffner came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Lanterne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Haffner couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Jean Caze managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herblay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Caze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurice Lecat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68th minute Augustin Pellegrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurice Lecat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurice Lecat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Pellegrin in the 74th minute of the match. The free kick resulted in a very good chance to score when Jonathan Haffner kicked a really tricky shot on goal. Luis Guyon never had to step in, however, because the ball went just left of the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Alfred Doreau recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luis Guyon. Alfred Doreau showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Lanterne's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
